noob questions

[Canadian Normandy]

it seems hard to find up-to-date info on this game. does anyone know where all of the current mining locations are, and is there any use for the gems besides unlocking the vault and looking pretty? i've seen some images that look like gem infused swords or something though i may be mistaken.

The mining "areas" I found so far.... You know about the one by blacksmith... Well.... Before you enter the cave, take a left and follow the mountain side. There's 1 on the cliff side. There's a small cave across the bridge (that's being constructed) with 2 veins inside. All I know so far, considering I haven't done allot of exploring.

yeah i've started documenting all of the nodes ive found, so far i've mapped out the "village area" (starting zone that you can access without crossing a bridge or river) and the cave (minus the vault, because i wanna keep my shiny rocks) and found the following:

note: the snowy area is to the north, meaning the cave is south and the earth shrine is sort of southeast of the blacksmith.

copper - just inside the entrance to the mine
copper - outside the mine, west of the entrance against the cliffside behind some rocks.
coal/carbon - in the mine, room with a miner.
tin - two separate nodes on the cliff face to the southwest of the forest area, between the cave and the teleporter for npcs to the west.
tin - on the shore of the southern part of the river, past the earth shrine. follow the river northward once you reach the bridge under construction and you should find it along the shore. it is directly across the river from a treasure chest.
iron - in the mine, after the first locked door, take a right and in the big room there is the night crystal to the left and some ore nodes.
Adelite - deep in the mine, past the iron ore, hop over the lava and it will be next to the crystal vault door.
mithril - in the mine, take a left after the first locked door.
mithril - this one is tricky. behind the empty house you can climb a part of the northern cliff. on the other side of this cliff is the chasm that the north bridge spans. somewhere below, you should see a treasure chest. jump down and there will be nodes right next to the chest. to get back you have to follow the cliff around to the northern (snowy) side of the chasm and then you should be able to drop down to the regular path.

thats everything i have so far. maybe i'll make a guide once i feel like i found most of them.
