Why can you not add fuel? Pictures?

just add more fuel

Just to be clear. 12 ore takes 96 fuel to heat - and 96 fuel to smelt, for a total of 192 required fuel, plus or minus a couple bits of fuel here and there for the likely not exactly 8 because fuel also is not in exactlys as you get 0 to 100.00%

Additionally.
The fuel gauge is its own sensor
The Fuel detector, that acts as the determining factor for whether you have enough fuel, or not, as well is actually its own detector, and it can have things overlapping it, preventing it from actually detecting the fuel properly.

Same can happen with the output. - It has a.. sorta.. detector, long as nothing is blocking the tray, it can deploy ingots.

Anywho. Where the smelter is, if you've moved it, can play a part potentially it it not working.
If. For example as me and another use found, You have it outside the big cave entrance. The sunlight rays actually count as something can that block the detectors, and prevent the smelter from working at all, but you can have it in the cave, directly across from a node and it work just fine, among other places.

Dont you guys get it adding fuel doesnt work.. like I said added fuel and it said it had fuel and just could not heat it.... The ore was melted and ready to smelt/poor.(Smelt button highlighted,Heat button was grayed out) When I tried the smelt button said I was out of fuel.(even thought it had fuel and was full) I had no problems smelting copper worked many times fine with copper just would never give me ingots from tin.

you have to add more fuel for evryone else it works usually you have to add 2 times the fuel the game asks

Fine if everyone else says that all I need to due even thought fuel is full after it tells me I need more fuel and I still cant get it to smelt or heat again... Dont seem to get it I add more fuel it has fuel gauges says it has fuel. None of the buttons make it smelt or heat again.. Damn fuel box is full cant add anything else into the hole for fuel!!!! has fuel!! So "everyone" that says it works has smelted tin sense the last patch and has made it work in the default setup of the first shop?

Yes. I've smelted tin in 0.1.2T
In my main save, I have not moved it

If the smelt is highlight but announcing it doesn't have enough fuel, As I mentioned, The output could be "blocked"

"Blocked" does not mean it actually has to have something visibly on it, it means that the smelter believes that it would not be able to output to the tray
It stating it doesn't have enough fuel, can also potentially be **too much** fuel, unlikely, but I mean, if anything can block a detector, firewood likely can too.

The fuel inside could also be broken, in various ways.
As I mentioned in the first response, pictures, they can help a lot in this case, They can say things that you don't even realize, that I nor anyone else, don't even realize need to be said, among other things.

Additionally, While not easy here, afaik. You can hop into MLBS' discord and DM me your savefile(s) (every of 0.1.2 has 2, a Slot header, and the slot's data, both are necessary) (example: header
0.sav
obvious
0_data.sav

Thanks for your well done response. Am sure I will feel like giving it a go again before long. And when I try some things and see about discord thanks.

Larry you do realise there isnt a max amount of fuel per say, it's just how much fuel you can fit inside the bottom area right?

like if you start a new game and go to the firewood pile stacked next to the smelter, you can actually fit that ENTIRE PILE into the fuel area pretty easily, tbh i think the fuel gauge is more of a decoration than an actual mechanic

Yes I think I kinda made it clear that I had all the fuel I could fit. I still could not heat or smelt anything. The game play is so bad at this point its not worth messing with it. I will try again when and if I see updates.
