I'm interested in hearing the argument in favor of the Dominator though for sure.
Just not sure which gun to use... Overwhelmer for it's hard hitting incendiary rounds or Dominator for it's huge magazine and heavy slugs.
Alos, just join other peoples game in co-op. Snag some extra upgrades xD
I’m already playing through the entire game with a friend and I sold the Astrosmasher. Too many weapons and I can’t focus on them all.
The Minor Note I don't have yet although after some research found out the P1 Protector is actually a really powerful sidearm when upgraded, so Idk if the Minor Note will be worth it for a sidearm.
In the end though I just want a big heavy machine gun and it's hard to chose which one of the two I really want to stick with.
Interruptor is a Stasis weapon. it's not made for high damage. its a support weapon.
Stasis tech (b4 Interruptor released) NEVER worked on larger mobs such as Papa Ferals and Wuhan Siege Mechs, so this has not changed. Everything else is fair game. its also considered an 'energy weapon' thus it a kin to the Stasis Drone and JoyRun Dragon tech.
Minor Note once maxed out is great for knocking back enemies at close ranch. personally i'd rally use Hydraulic Slam if i'm that close
Dominator has more knockback than the Overwhelmer, which has none, '0'.
Ballistic weapon; which i would NOT use against mechs unless I/O Converter was active OR i was OP while fighting mechs. NOTE (when very over lvl than mobs the damage types 'almost' fall away) example. slicing thru ferals or low-level organics w/ energy weapons and chewing thru mechs w/ the overwhelmer or Dealbreaker or the like. best bet is to match damage types and mix it up when possible:
i use Interruptor to 'pepper them up' then switch to any ballistic. they explode when in stasis. this way both types are used as a start AND finish combo.
even better in co-op when one is 'tagging them' in place and another pops them like balloons.
its at 20 because of the stoopid amount of damage is does. only weapon that has Fire and Ballistic damage. The Fire is Damage Over Time.
albeit, 100 mag clip, is a 100 mag freakin clip. plus a little knockback
personally i like both for different reasons. They're more similar enough yet allow for a nuance in play-style when you want FULL SUPPRESSIVE FIRE (Dominator) vs HIGH DAMAGE W/ FIRE DOT (Overwhelmer) at the cost of no knockback and small clip. w/ Reload skill AND now since the Devs 'tweaked' the normal Reload mechanic to auto reload after you release trigger and re-pull (which was not there at initial release) make its not so bad...yet again...options for each one's particular play-style.
i favor Overwhelmer over Dominator and choose Recoil when i want to be 'challenged'
Saves me components that way.
no that many robots?
have you visited Corp Zone?
DNexus?
Scrapland? yet?
i spread my skill points out evenly because the Max is only 20
there is no skill-tree and you end up w/ 14 to 15 in each one by end-game (prior to DLC) anyway, granted personal choice
glad to hear you're enjoying it!
