In solo mode, I practically have no bugs unless I play the game on higher graphics settings until it overheats my system. However, even if I'm on the lowest graphics settings and I start a game up in co-op by myself... I find significantly more errors in the game. Evidently they had fixed most of the crashes well prior to the release of Cyber Heist. However, the new expansion brought many people back and many new players so the reports of crashing are pretty overwhelming.
Some tips for Multiplayer: Unless you have a very powerful system, have everyone dial back on the graphics. Less graphical errors on your side means less chance for an error between your system and any other players in your game. Turn off Tutorial mode in multiplayer. Sometimes Tutorial screens will pop up and get soft locked over your GUI. Don't button mash between loading sequences, and when waiting for a mission reward to be given, don't move quickly or enter buildings. Let the game finish whatever cinematic sequence it's on as well. The less things you early trigger to finish fast, the less chance of a miscommunication between your system and your friends. It's just a finicky system in multiplayer.
Despite all of that, Multiplayer is VERY fun. The game is improved by Quantums when playing with friends. You can each specialize in different playstyles and even support each other with your build choices. Being able to rescue your friends is worth the risk of dying while alive if you don't save your friend before the timer runs out.
It has been suggested to me I might be suffering from a DNS issue, but I want to research that a bit more before I start tinkering with that. It might be because the host in on a different continent, after all... distance and different internet infrastructure could be to blame. It could be something we haven't figured out yet. I tested to see if Fashion Cosmetics were causing the issue, but I wasn't able to prove anything there.
As you note, I don't suffer from these issues playing other games online, even games that ought to take significantly more bandwidth... So it's also very possible these are purely issues with the Unreal Engine and quirks that compound with coding mistakes.
I believe we are going to see a number of bug fixes being pushed out once Neon Giant begins and finishes it's current round of hiring. They formed a partnership with Krafton: securing funding and a flexible mandate for their next project. They will be going from a team of 11 industry fanatics to a larger studio.... so they have to train their new employees in how Neon Giant does things. The Ascent will likely be the crucible for that with new content and bug fixes being how they train their new employees. This is my speculation and I could very well be overthinking it. Until I am presented with evidence to the contrary, I believe The Ascent is still VERY important to Neon Giant.
I do hope Neon is still working of this game including bug fixes because its a great title!
Only getting this because of local multiplayer.
Really bothers me that this is still an issue after how long the game has been out now
Will keep away, then. Shame.
