Devs abandoned this game?
I hope not. I'm quite enjoying it so far and I'm hoping for more DLC and expansions. Have the devs really left this game or are they still hard at work?

I don't think this was ever intended to be a live service game. hopefully they'll make a sequel at some point that addresses all the current problems.

I would argue it is not "completed" in the sense that there are still a few game-breaking bugs here and there, especially in the online coop which is one of the selling points of this game.

They even announced that they "improved" the ultrawide while the reality is no thing has changed on that aspect and it is left as is until now

Most devs fix their games before moving on.
Not in this case.

Most games still have bugs.

with the amount of bugs and glitches this isnt a complete game.
there are gamebreaking bugs that sholdnt be a burden for the community to fix.
also if you played the game you maybe noticed that the world feels empty. the amount of quests and weapons is way 2 low.

devs just finished the dlc with leftover stuff that they didnt finish for the main game and called it a day.
no big optimitisation or bugfixes

Curve Digital are normally very good.
Pretty much sure, they would not put their name to anything which would tarnish their reputation.

But with the sad state of "gaming" nowadays
Who knows..

Finished =/= Abandoned, as we generally use the terms. Though, I find it slightly unfortunate they never did add a waves/survive mode or something similar.

I said it before, I will say it again: You will know they have published the final content for this game when they finally release all the exclusive DLC to the general public.

Neon Giant was bought up by Krafton last year... the sale was finalized in December, but they were hammering out the details for months before that. Tor Frick and Arcade Berg went from being very chatty with the fan base and doing development tutorials to being totally silent. It was likely a condition of their buyout that persists to this day to keep details of their new project from leaking. They went from a small studio with under 20 people working there to having the backing of one of the biggest upcoming video game publishers in the industry. They probably had months of hiring, months of training, and are in the middle of development hell constantly putting on the crunch to meet deadlines. They don't have time to check in with us and Curve Digital has no real reason to say anything since Neon Giant is owned by Krafton now.

When they have finally published their new game and probably pushed out a few DLC for it, they will likely revisit this and drop some content. The Ascent is still their baby and the reason they got the opportunity with Krafton. However... it's not like they ever leaked details about what they planned to drop before anyway. If you research it a bit, they were always tightlipped about DLC and future content. The only hype they ever did for The Ascent was on Kickstarter. Cyber Heist literally dropped out of nowhere with no build up or hype.

Save all the doomsaying about bugfixes and content updates until after they give us a way to get all the exclusive DLCs.
