In an isometric game, it's trickier to hide the route since you've only got the camera-side axes to play with. If you don't obscure the way at all, then you're unequivocally wasting the player's time since you might as well just give them the items rather than saying "walk here". There needs to be an extra stage: "walk here, and then figure it out via what you know and a process of elimination".
probably worded it wrong what i meant is that every game has a waypoint system... i should be able to click the map to have a waypoint.. wether the loot is visible wasnt really my concern... but since it is int his game i should be able to put a waypoint on it...
that would be better yes but then they should still allow me to place a waypoint to get to said area.. and if not that then atleast make a map that actually shows you where you can pass through/over/under etc.
i mean a map is supposed to help someone find their way in agame and in real life.. if it only serves to confuse/frustare then you might aswell remove it..
and in a game where we hav AI and robots and can modify our body i am supposed to belive there is no GPS something that we have in real life right now ??
in short the game NEEDS a waypoint system
jup jup read my response to the other persons comment ;)
That's what I'm saying.
The game does tell you where the item is, but not how to get there. That's the part you need to figure out. With the tiny number of ways the game could hide an item if it led you to the area, they would run out of tricks almost immediately.
Maps in real life and maps in games are rarely the same thing. A good real-life map tells me exactly how to get to a place even if I've never seen it before. Game maps intentionally leave out some of that vital information to make you earn the prize. And as for GPS and future tech: you're suspending your disbelief that you even need to aim guns, or that bullets can be dodged.
The game world is much smaller than the game makes it look, so even with the modest speed of movement it doesn't take that long to figure out that one edge is useless because it has no lifts, or there can't possibly be stairs this way, etc. I'm the kind of person who wants to pick up every collectable item, and I became better and better at getting to the chests as I became more familiar with how this world works. Tbh I think they could have been much crueller with hiding the chests than they were, since there was potential to really spin out the routes more than they did.
if you actually read what i said you would knwo id ont care if they show me or make it a challenge to find the loot..
what i really care about is that there isnt a waypoint system... theres a map theres loctaions there should be a waypoint system..
and sicne the loot isnt hidden at all anyway.. if there was a waypoint system i could put one on the loot.. and save myself the suffering of having to open the sh*tty map all the time..
if you dont agree cool
i want a waypoint system...
Or at least give you the option to not show it
having a choice is always better than not having a choice...
even though this thread is about waypoints and not how easy it is to find loot..
i must say that since the dev chose to put loot clealry on the map.. i can see how players would enjoy it more if they didnt and make it a greater challenge to find loot..
but again if thats your concern yous houdl open your own thread... this ones about having a waypoint system :)
