It's also not clear the game is "Complete".... Neon Giant hasn't made any official statements of how much further they intend to take this.. and they haven't done any of the classic "We are done making DLC for this" moves. Cyber Heist just dropped out of the blue in August. That's fairly "Alive".
Well back in the day, when a game was released and complete, such as something for the SNES, N64, etc, there was never any 'support'.
Game isn't dead. As I stated before, the base game is 'completed' and done. Sure, maybe some bug fixes or minor patches will come along, but they don't HAVE to continue adding content to the game or fixing bugs.
Game is fully launched, game is otherwise complete. Has a beginning, a middle, and an end that are all made abundantly clear.
Too true.
Seen the same sort of posts coming up for other games like Elite: Dangerous, and it just amazes me. Game's still running and live, so it's not dead. It's not abandoned. They're generally content complete as far as need be beyond extra DLCs/content that get added or bugfixes that are applied over time.
However, a good indicator that they are wrapping up content production for this game will be when they release the Pre-order Bonus weapons to the general public. For the record, those are "The Bitsplit ~ Digital Shotgun" "The RPEG-33 ~ Energy Rocket Launcher" and "The Persuader ~ POTENT Energy SMG"
You can rest assured Neon Giant is secretly putting something together as long as those remain unattainable to most of us. Once they release those weapons, that will be "We are moving on to other projects" goodbye note.
XBox and MS Store never got their own exclusives... although MS Store probably shared the same exclusives as Steam. XBox is really the odd man out.... but it shouldn't affect anyone's choice to buy the game now, since you can't get any of the preorders after the fact.
Despite the many complaints of crashes, particularly in Coop mode, the coop mode is tons of fun and worth it. If you are plagued by crashing, try lower your graphics settings, don't rush things, don't mash buttons at loading sequences. You'll find the odds of a crash seem to go down quite a bit. They have fixed the crashing before, I think the biggest reason there is a lull in updates is because they are in the middle of hiring people at this time.
If they can get the crashes eliminated, I would love to see team competitive modes... Imagine having Dueling AGI Capture Tournaments!
