the game needs a quick and manual save options. having something be purely autosave will always cause problems.
What i bought- CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System, 1500VA/1000W, 12 Outlets, AVR, Mini Tower. From amazon ofc XD. On sale for $219. UPS's like this generally last around 5 years, but when you have expensive and sensitive things like a gaming PC, it's a very good investment.
Thanks.
I'd suggest the devs to write a "new" temporary save file, and once its done writting, make a checksum on it, and if it's ok, then rename the previous save file to .bak, and the new temp to permanent filename.
Once opening the game, it should also perform a checksum on the savefile, and if it's faulty, then try to load the backup instead.
There're many games that store multiple backup levels.
Also I think it could be better to have each character profile be a separate savefile, as the overall file size would be smaller.
But just wild guesses, I don't know how well the OS deals with writting/renaming files with all the frequency they do.
For now, all players can do is to manually backup their savefiles.
Anyway, I've upload a save profile with all items on my NG+0 guide:
