I'm playing on steam with a pretty strong rig. 3070, tons of ram, great monitor.
What worked for me.......
1. Download and unzip Unreal Unlocker. This allows messing with various camera settings inside an unreal engine game. https://framedsc.github.io/GeneralGuides/universal_ue4_consoleunlocker.htm
2. start the game, load your save.
3. start the unreal unlocker and select the ascent program to inject it into
4. open up the console with tilde ~
5. change the field of view setting however you like. in the console the command is "fov XX" with xx being the number you want, 1-100. too far zoomed out and you will get more lag ie "fov 100". my default without the injector was something like fov 60 and i couldn't see the enemies before they fired at me. I'm experimenting with "fov 80"
