Roadmap for future content and also Mod support?
Hey just wondering if anyone has seen any articles or videos with the devs commenting on Mod support and future DLC content like expanding the universe? I know nexus mods already has a section for the game but its just fixes.

It's too early for this, they are probably looking at sales to figure out if they can even afford to continue development.

Yeah, it would be great to see some Mod support. I've got a few ideas for creating a mod that integrates with Twitch.

Are there any required fixes at this point? I just picked this up the other day but was not sure what state it was in.

My guess would be that future content = a sequel, or a new game altogether. As far as mod support goes, I personally wouldn't expect it, but ya never know. 50/50.

IMO The Ascent feels more like a proof of concept, with the intention being a more refined and fleshed out sequel, but I'm just a guy on the Steam forums, take anything I say with a grain of salt.

I agree with what you said about The Ascent feeling more like a proof of concept. I think we also need to keep in mind that this game was developed by a team of 11-12 people over 3 years, so I can understand if they're limited on how much they can do. All things considered though, I'd say they did a pretty good job, and I still love the game, warts and all. And I sincerely hope Neon Giant rises to greater heights after this, pun totally intended.

Personally, I'm not much into mods though I can appreciate the enhancements they bring to the experience. As far as future content for this game is concerned, there's three main things I wish for.

1. New Game+ Mode: I'd like to replay the game (preferably as many times as I want) with all the stuff and skills I acquired from my first playthrough and basically become a cyborg demigod or raise the difficulty level to make for challenging gameplay. Either way, I think it could make for a pretty fun experience.

2. Transmogrification (Transmog): I really like the look of certain armor pieces but hate their stats and vice versa. With the Transmog feature, you could equip armor pieces with the stats you want AND the look that you want. I mean, cyberpunk is as much about style as substance, so why not look good (at least in your own eyes) while blasting your enemies to a pulp, right?

3. Rotatable Camera or 1st/3rd Person Perspective: This one is last because it's a bit iffy, and I still love the isometric view the developers went with. That being said, there were times I found it hideously annoying when I couldn't see where my enemies were at all, so it was difficult to plan my moves. Also, after watching a YouTube video of someone going around the game in 1st Person mode with an Unreal editor tool, I feel it's a bit of a waste to not be able to walk around, fully immerse yourself in the gorgeous environments and take in the scenery. As I said before though, considering the size of the development team and how much work it'd probably take to make this work properly, I can understand if they decline to do this at all or take a long time releasing it.

P.S. If anyone from Neon Giant happens to read this, more cool weapons, armor, tactical items, augmentations and modules are also welcome. ;)
