Bitsplit Shotgun did not appear after mission 1

I'm already at level 24 and I don't see the bitsplit shotgun anywhere. I purchased the game on day one and the DLC is already installed. am I missing something?

It should have been given to you after finishing the first mission and talking to Poone for the first time.

Only way to get it right now is either creating a new profile, or pulling a NG+0 on your save profile to redo the mission.

I also read reports of people not getting it in online co-op for some reason.

I sold the gun on accident, just tried method 2 of NG+0 and this did not work.

If you're playing in coop and youre not the host it can bug out sometimes and not give it to you.

If you go and visit the news center in the middle of town, interact with it and see if it gives it to you afterwards.

I backed up my save folder at
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TheAscent\Saved\SaveGames
right before re-visiting Poone and seeing the Ascent Group plotline announcement to try a second time post world reset without success.

Yeah, kind of feeling that way since I sold it for the achievement for a measly 5 uCreds.

its not worthless. its the best gun in the game to deal with machines once its upgraded.
its the only digital damage weapon in the game. digital damage wrecks machines way better than electric weapons. (as does the I/O converter aug)

I can probably just buy any automatic energy firearm and upgrade it halfway to Mk. 5 for similar effect.

digital damage does way more damage to machines compared to electric. and its the only digital wep int he game.

But if you were to upgrade the Bitsplit instead, you get to watch mechs evaporate ludicrously fast. Energy weapons just don't seem very good when you can use this along with a physical weapon.

lost mine as well wouldn't be so bad however when you loose it you cant get it back even if you start a new character and finish the mission again at least in my case its like it de flagged my account

So you earn the BitSplit early access DLC digital shotgun once you talk to the hologram and learn about Ascent Group bankruptcy. I learned this by starting a second character.
