PSA: Disable Windows 10 'Game Mode' & Resizable BAR when using DX12

Like many of you I was facing several performance issues when playing the game in DX12. What initially helped was to use the 'Guard Flow Fix' provided in this forum. This fixed some of the stutters I had, but there was something else that was bugging me: my GPU usage was all over the place! This was causing my FPS to fluctuate as well.

So, at first I thought Windows' 'Game Mode' was the culprit. Disabling this did have a positive effect on my GPU usage, it now hit the 99-100% more often. But still in areas like 'Cluster 13' it would tank as low as 43%, and that would have a negative effect on my FPS. That got me thinking: Resizable BAR is turned ON by default, and although it will give a performance boost in game that support it, it can cause a negative performance hit in games that don't support it - at least that's what I thought.

After that brain fart I turned it OFF in my system's BIOS, and booted up the game. Surprise: the game now hits 99-100% GPU usage all of the time!

Now, I know this fix will only benefit those with capable AMD and Nvidia GPU's, but I guess it's worth a shot, right?

My (relevant) sysem specs:
CPU: Intel i9-10900KF
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 running at 3333MHz
GPU: Asus TUF RTX 3090
MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus XII Hero (Z490)

was your gpu using resize bar at the time u told about ? (I think a GPU Bios Update was necessary in the past to activate it from gpu side)

Yes, my GPU was using 'Resizable BAR' at the time my GPU usage was low in-game. I know this for a fact, since the Nvidia Control Panel showed this, and so did my BIOS.

Okay np. I gave this Hint on a other Thread. Is it running good now on your Rig? When not, trying (install) this, will not hurt. (Auto Install Update all VC+ Redists in a row)
