The process of getting this "verified" for the steam deck apparently didn't involve playing it through. The first mission plays just fine. Then you(r character) get in a lift to go home, the credits roll, and just after you get out on the arcology, the game stutters a bit, then drops below one frame per second (1hz refresh rate) and becomes totally unplayable.

When it comes to gameplay The Ascent is nothing revolutionary, a standard twin-stick shooter, but where it really shines is the audio and visuals. It has some of the most beautiful locations i've seen in video games and amazing soundtrack and sound effects.

I do not recommend this game for the sole reason of been filled with game breaking bugs. Some of these are fixed by restarting the game, but others outright delete your data from the PC itself. How is it done, I have no clue.

Other than that the game is great, but I can't recommend due to the bugs. Sorry.
