What's the difference between a Beehive and a Skep?

Other than the fact that the Beehive is MUCH more "expensive" ... 8 straw vs 2 Square Frames, 2 Panels, and 4 Fixing Pegs. I ask because the difference makes me think that the Beehive can hold more than 1 Bees Nests and or more than 1 buckets worth of honey, but apparently not.

The rate in which it accumulates the honey and possibly also the range the bees can fly to flowers. I haven't tested that last component though.
