Used stone deposits?
So, when you use metal picks on rich stone deposits you get absolutely no benefit, but instead get used stone deposits? That can no longer be mined? That sounds incredibly stupid.

A secondary question, how do you get more rough stone?

i believe the rich stone deposits can be used infinitely, what i do for it is i use one bot to mine the stone deposits and another one stores the stone in crates

I'm glad I read this, because I was about to switch my bots to using metal tools. I just tried it in Creative mode.

Sure enough, a metal pick will take away the top layer of a stone deposit, revealing a lower "rich stone deposit". But after a few more hits with a pick (crude stone or metal pick), it turns into a depleted stone deposit and you can't get any more stone from it. This definitely seems .... not right.

Why would a regular stone deposit give stone indefinitely, but a *rich* stone deposit deplete after about a dozen drops?

I wonder if it's so you can clear a stone pile and build on it.

That makes sense for the large, above-ground rocky crags that you mine rough stone from. I'm not sure it makes sense for regular in-ground stone deposits. I didn't try building on them (or filling them after they're depleted), but I imagine the only thing you can't do on top of a normal stone deposit would be till/plant.

I found out on the official discord (where they keep talking about this game being early access) that used stone deposits do regenerate after 10 minutes. Still a dumb design decision.
