Can you copy a line of code?
I know about floppy discs and I know about "times" loops etc, my question is about something else.

Lets say I have "Add to storage" in the script already and I would want to add second "Add to storage" but with different destination. Is there some hidden way of making a copy of that single line of code inside the script without having to teach him this again?

Unfortunatly not, you can however copy a whole bot's code with some tech later on.

Is this part of that "Copy/Share" button in the programming UI? Would love to see a tool tip explaining this button since it is active from the start.

For copying the whole script there are Floppy Discs - they are unlocked with bot upgrades I think. But it is not my problem.

My problem is more like duplicating a single line of code inside of the script, when you want for example store stuff in 4 different boxes. Right now you need to manually go, take an item, store it, reapeat 4 times, just to get 4 "Add to storage commands"

For me the missing of copy command is not really about tedium of teaching the same action many times to a bot, but instead that it makes it mandatory to manufacture certain situations that don't arise naturally. If I want to make a new charge bot and make it watch two areas I basically have to have a bot outside of any other charge bots area to get the first action and then another one for the second action because otherwise the more charge bots I have, the less situations arise where I have one let alone two bots out of power at the same time.

I'd really like a "dublicate action" command. Not being able to copy a program from bot to bot without additional tech is ok, but not being able to copy a command the bot knows already is annoying. I love the game, just some QoL improvements would be welcome.

You can just initiate the charge and then run away...

Very much this. You spend too much time messing with the codes that you already know how you need/want it. It should not be too easy of course, but not too much of a hassle either. It's a fine line... I think much will be adressed in due time but again, some QoL would be appreciated.

Until I realized about the disks, I kept a no-charge bot out of my rechargers' areas of responsibility just so I could get the instructions from it. Run over, get the instruction, run away before it was charged, go back, get the next instruction, etc.

Fortunately rechargers are one of the areas where the existing tools shine -- signs and floppies work wonders in keeping the manual work down.

THERE IS A WAY TO DUPLICATE COMMANDS (within a robot).
To do so simply hold Ctrl and select(click) whichever commands you want to copy. Then hit Ctrl + C and voila! insert the copied code where ever you like(except to another bot, that is still done with floppy disks).

You can copy the structure of the loops and if statements with ctrl-c, but you cannot paste in the new destination without actually showing him where that is. You cannot copy and paste that in from another robot without the robot database.

That's for copying a text version of the program to your computer's clipboard so you can paste it to the internet for other people to see.
