Would that not be better? I know i'd prefer it this way because it's more interesting than a speed boost and only one extra step.
I guess the idea is giving you the chance to minimise excessive numbers of bots and figure out some streamlined systems, boils down to personal preference i guess since you can easily solve the same problem a dozen different ways.
btw, fertilizer was crucial for corn crops I found, especially in combo with tilling and watering, since maintaining enough flour and porridge coming in for higher tier meals was tricky.
numbers wise I repurposed a few basic bots, 2 per tray (one seeding one fertilizing) then 1 mk2 collecting seedlings from 3trays sequentially. This supports 8 mk2s (4cutting, 4 digging).
It it excessive definitely, I switched off 3 trays but if you're building a lot of new stuff the 6 maintains a steady supply even with the extra demand.
So 28 altogether, not using 10 of them rn, and after a checked an old savefile I was using 16 total so using 2 more bots in fact but keeping a much steadier supply.
maybe I'm too keen but I'm happy with my set up, (dunno coal obv) but the only thing I'm potentially gonna struggle maintaining for the next stage is rough stone.
