I feel like I am missing a trick. I have taken out loans but the interest just speeds up the loss of money. is there a routine to follow at the start of the game to build your money properly?
I play as an owner instead of playing as the trainer. It's important as an owner to be able to breed and develop bloodlines. Playing as a Trainer doesn't allow you to do that because someone else owns the horse.
It takes a long time to do develop good horses, and even longer great horses, so be patient.
Playing on Easy is probably the best when you start. Easy mode doesn't make the AI easier to beat. it just handles training your horses so that you can focus on racing and breeding them.
The starter horses usually suck so sell them. Unless there's a super horse in the starter horses, I usually sell them. You can often expect between $1M and $2M (or more if you get lucky) for all of your starter horses. Then you'll have a little money to play with.
I usually take the money from selling my starter horses and then start a breeding program to breed horses to sell. I don't really worry about racing the first 3-4 years until I can have 20-25 cheap mares breeding each season. They can make me a lot of money and then I can concentrate on finding my own quality horses to breed and race.
You have to fund your eventual racing barn somehow so breeding and selling horrible horses works best. You can then sell their offspring to fund the main stable. Selling 20 horses each season could be $5M-$20M in your account. That money can be used to build a nice stable of racers.
I follow every listed auction looking for horses to buy. I'm looking to breed quality horses to race myself and develop bloodlines. Auctions are color coded. Learn what colors mean what (a Blue Symbol means breeding mares). And visit each auction when you have the money. I've found some superstars in those auctions, but be prepared to pay.
Learn the levels of races. If you don't know them already it would benefit you to learn them if you want to be successful in SO7. You don't want to put a horse in the wrong level race. Depending on their confidence you could damage your horse like that and make them worse.
Learn to read the speed ratings of your horses. The speed rating helps you understand what potential your horse may have. Generally, the higher the better, but sometimes if you have a green(inexperienced) horse they may have poor speed rating/s until they figure it out. It takes some time to be able to read that.
I'll try to think of a few more and then post them tomorrow. Good luck.
Lol, great minds think alike.
Sell all the horses and you should net 2-3 sometimes 4+ million
At this point i sjip through the entire first year with no horses
Until the New pre seasojn 2 Yo auction
Now i decide what my auction cap will be i find 400k means you can buy 1 horse for each year for 5 years
When buying a new 2yo i look for a g1 in the range of 100-350k
I start buy getting sprinters until i have a 3yo or 4yo sprinter i ike
26 march Doncaster, the Brockleby Stakes is a good start point for a 2yo flat sprinter
1. Do not bet in Handicap races, as by design {weighted penalties} they should all finish in a Dead-heat..
2. Always check the Graph of the horse that you fancy, only bet on improving horses, never bet on a declining horse.
3. Does the horse get the distance it is running at ? If the horse is running more than a furlong further than its stamina rating, it will struggle to get the distance..
4. The races I look to bet in are Sellers, Group Races, Stakes, Maidens with available form, Novice with previous form.
5. Play every day of the game, do not skip weeks. Look at making 2 to 3 bets per day only.
6. Always check the Horse Rating, although this does not tell you if a horse is in decline, this used with the Graph will give you an idea of the horses potential if it gets the right course conditions, luck in racing and a decent jockey.....
Good Luck, it can with practice be done.....
AUCTIONS YOUR 3 HORSES ON DAY 1
YOU NEED ABOUT 300-350K .
buy breeding Barn (200K)
REDUCE THE STAFF WAGE AND FEED LEVELS TO MINIMUM UNTIL YOU HAVE HORSES
(THIS REDUCES YOUR MONTHLY OUTGOINGS.
I lookt at the auctions 23 March, 3 May, 13 JUne
Buy horsex less than 50 k with a G1-3 rating.
its best to get 2 horses year 1. Spend less than 10k on each horses breeding.at the start of year 2 you will have 2 useless 1 yo's so auction them off for March 1st
You will have enough cash to buy another horse and or breed them
you can hold 1 of your 1yo for following season.
you can easily have in access of 1 million bucks by year 3 which yoiu can use to upgrade
swimming pool, dirt track and starting stalls all effect the quality of your training.
