Year 1 2nd House Upgrade

Okay so I just began Autumn Yr 1 and I think I've gotten off course somewhere.

For reference...I just discovered that I should've been giving the goddess gifts everyday lol. I did not play on GBA so this is all new to me.

Anyway, currently I have the Slightly Larger House upgrade, a kitchen with a fridge, etc. 2 chickens and 2 cows.

I see that I need to upgrade my house again to make significant progress in the game going further, but collecting the materials seems really daunting even if I can afford the gold. Is that a reasonable Yr 1 goal?

I'm also having a lot of trouble getting further than like, the 4th floor in the Spring Mine. I saw some multi save file "hacks" but that seems uh...risky. Any tips for getting lower levels without compromsing or mixing up save files?

You actually have a lot of time to make the modifications on your farm, you decide what to do first and what not to do.

But something I do have to tell you is that the game has something reserved for those who delay farm improvements a lot, because if you get to the summer of year 3 and you only have a maximum of 4 notes with Gotts ... this will be He'll get depressed and then he won't work until you raise his grades to 6

You can do the mine easily by saving on every floor, finding the ladder down then reloading and heading straight to where it was and dig again.

Get down to around floor 20 and then start smashing rocks to get plenty of Mythril and other high level stuff.
