Unable to get preserved flower

I'm in spring year 2 and have seen the blue heart events of 4 bachelorettes (Ran, Popuri, Jennifer and Karen) so according to the games wiki I should be able to buy preserved flowers from the general store by now.

Am I missing something? I played the original and don't remember having this problem back then.

Yes, you should get the event for the Preserved Flowers first.

Wait until Fall 1 to have Jeff waiting for you in front of your house and asking you to come to the store.
In the store, you will meet Basil and long story short, he will ask you about this rare red flower and the sprites will help you get them.

The story will happen if the general store is open so it won't happen on Sunday and Tuesday.

Looks like I'll have to play until fall comes around again to see if it triggers the event.

It doesn't have to be Fall. I got the preserved flower even in Spring as well. You just need a higher friendship points with Jeff and have at least view a blue heart event. Then you have to go in and out of your house after 9 am. And hopefully it should trigger the event.
