I do find the old system to be easier. Because as soon as you have the list of ingredients to collect to make the recipe, you can pretty much unlock every recipe in year 1. Which also makes it too easy. With the new system, I find that the recipes are something to be collected. That I have to invest my time befriending villagers, getting the right utensils and actually have to cook some ingredients to be able to unlock other recipes.
But yeah, I find it weird that the entire recipe is locked in as required ingredients and utensils, and the only choice we have is to choose which quality of ingredients to use.
But I do still find the cooking festival to not just change ingredient qualities. Each festival has its own theme, so the only way to win is to make sure you have the right recipes to be able to enter according to the theme. The more complex the ingredients, the better your chances are winning the cooking festival. And the more opportunity for the recipe to have access to higher quality ingredients, the better your chances are to win it as well.
Also, I looked on a website to search the way to unlock the recipe, some of them are having very hard condition to achieved
But the complex recipe is the way it always have been in the original game. If you want to win the cooking festival, cook a recipe that uses all the slots and high quality ingredients both required and optional ingredients.
The only difference here is, you're locked with the ingredients that you need to make, you can't remove optional ingredients. Everything is required.
Which recipe conditions that you're talking about?
I only find you either:
1. Befriend a villager, and they'll give you the recipe.
2. Cooking channel in the TV.
3. Anna's cooking class events that happens every Saturday.
4. Befriend Lou, and she'll give you recipes every Sunday.
5. Cook certain amount of ingredients and it'll unlock the other recipes inspired by it.
Yeah, I don't know why they removed the animals getting sick and die that was there in the original game. Maybe it's because they're introducing the grindy breeding program to get the 10 max hearts.
This is why getting married is the last thing I do in the game. I have to get all the events, confess to everyone, and once I see every single event and no more progression. That's when I get married and focus on the events for my married partner (Harvest Goddess).
You could play the original game if you want.
