How to get Gotts happy again?

I have a problem with Gotts, he has become angry and does not want to work anymore. has given him presents every day and he now has 10 notes but he is still angry. how should I make him happy again and so I can upgrade the farm ????

Hmm, I'm wondering if there's more to it to get Gotts out of his slump than just raising his friendship level to 6 with loved items. I'm currently in the same situation with Gotts still in his funk; I've raised his friendship level all the way to 10 by gifting a combination of apples and honey, but the next event (which he finds his inspiration again) just doesn't trigger.

Maybe Gotts has to be in his slump for a specific duration of time (like 20 days, or a whole month, etc.). Well, even following the guide I haven't been able to trigger Gotts re-opening his shop yet, but if the guide is correct, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

It looks like the best way is to fully upgrade your farm before Gotts become a depressed slump.

That's very true, haha. Considering this event, at the earliest, can be triggered in Year 3, you have to pretty much ignore Gotts from the beginning of the game (or at least give him a hated item to keep his friendship level low).

Though as an update, I finally got the event with Gotts getting his inspiration/confidence back. I definitely think it was something a little more than the guide suggests. I got him back into his groove after giving him a gift on his birthday (Autumn 2), then going to Gotts' workshop after 1PM which triggered the event (the day was also Sunny, but I'm not sure if that was necessary or not).

This all started when I triggered Gotts' slump event in early Summer when he was at 3 friendship hearts. From that point forward, I kept giving him loved gifts (apples, honey, wood) basically until Autumn 2 where the event when he gets out of the slump triggered. I had him way past 6 friendship hearts (as the guide suggested) back near the end of Summer, so I just kept gift giving until the scene triggered.

i also still waiting the event to trigger, my event trigger at summer 2, now im at summer 12 and he has 7 friend point. idk what but i think something missing from the guide.

edit: if you have golden credit card, you can force him to work!

i think two days after i hade get 7 notes on Gotts and later he was happy in hes workshop

just like i said, already did it. but still not triggered.

UPDATE:

i just confirmed that gotts recovery event happen in autumn and maybe ONLY happen in autumn since i cannot trigger it at summer at all!

here is my step step from slump until recovery:
1. I triggered the event at summer 2 year 3 at 1.00pm. gotts must only have 3 friend point or less to trigger the slump event.
2. I keep giving him gift he loved since summer 2 year 3 until autumn 1 year 3. the gift i choose to give him is lumber, honey, apple, and oil.
3. Autumn 1 year 3 is saturday, so the last gift i give him at general store at 2.00pm. gotts schedule is there at that time.
4. At 5.10pm, he is done shopping and back into his workshop, i enter his workshop at that time and the recovery event triggered.

so, at the moment i triggered the recovery event, gotts have 10 friend points.
