Well, for example, to Light of Hope was able to rise to the level of Stardew Valley, adding same-sex relationships is not enough. At the same time, if you remove same-sex marriages in Stardew Valley, the game will still be good.
Something like this.
The point is whether the game is good enough so that we accept the conventions that the developer imposes on us. It is not necessary to identify with the protagonist in order to enjoy the story and/or gameplay. In Animal Crossing we are surrounded by anthropomorphic animals. Does it bother someone? Do you need realism or identification?
For example, in Atelier Firis I played the role of a little girl. The absence of a worthless time limit at the beginning of the game, in my opinion, would improve the game; I would add sane motivation to the heroine and remove the disgusting multifinals. Would a game be better with the addition of a male protagonist? Hardly.
I do see why people could have issues in that, for that reason. The entire series before this has been set in stone on the premise of a straight main character. Which, obviously times have changed and that's fine, but would cause some issues to come up when trying to simply befriend a villager oppose to romancing them.
Who's complaining.. why make a parade out of it?
P.S. Vishnal is best husbando
Yea I mean there are already items in the newer games to initiate dating but even characters that you arent dating will have blushy/flirty comments if at around 8 hearts. So it's def going to be interesting to see how this will play out.
Will characters see you as a friend until dating? Will they even make flirtatious comments anymore before initiating a relationship? Will there be reverse dating initiations anymore? Will same sex characters initiate reverse dating if it comes to be? Will it even be possible to be simply friends with same sex characters? I just have so many questions
