Microstutter on a RTX 3080 every few seconds
Hi,
I am playing the remastered edition right now, but the stutter is not bearable.
Every two seconds are slight stutters and drives me just crazy.
I tried every tip:
- set V-Sync/G-Sync off/on/fast
- Low Latency mode
- set FPS limit
- start as admin
- everything to low
- new driver
- change refresh rate

Some tips make it better, but the stutter is still there just not so noticeable.

I played it on my laptop too (i7, RTX 2060) and the stutter is there too. I am pretty sure that it is the game engine itself (how can the developers can play like that?).
I tried the original Saints Row 3 and this runs flawlessly.
Does someone have a tip? Or another question: Is someone here who can really say that there is no single stutter in this game with perfect frame times?

I am sure that DXVK is the key, but it wont work on my PC. Then the game does not start. But on my laptop it works, but with DXVK on my laptop the FPS are very low because the mobile RTX 2060 is not too strong.

I just would love to play this game but I cant stand this micro stutter.

Thanks for the help :)

Yes it's pretty bad for me too, same card and I tried pretty much all you've tried to no avail. It's a shame. The game sure looks a little better graphics wise than the original, but the microstuttering is annoying to say the least.

Thanks for the answer, good to know that I am not the only one. I am just not sure if it is a game problem or a problem with certain systems, because some people claim that they dont have the stutter issue.

what CPU you running? I was getting stutters on my I7 4790K but last week i upgraded to a ryzen 5 5600x and i dont get stutters anymore. Also it might help to install your game on an SSD instead of a hard drive.

Can't speak for the OP but I am on a Intel 10900k and a Samsung 970 EVO NVMe m.2 drive. It's the game.

I have Intel too, an i9 9900k, so maybe your guess could be right. Are here other users who play with an Intel CPU and dont have the stutter issue?
And yes, it is installed on a SSD.

No stuttering on any kind on a 2nd gen i7, the game runs flawlessly all maxed, apart from the vehicle sound delay outside of cruise control.

Thanks for the answer. So there seems to be some users who dont occure the stutter issue. So there have to be a way to fix the stutter or some hardware combinations cause the stutter.

Thanks for the tip. But unfortunately the game does not start on my PC with DXVK. On my laptop it works but the laptop is not strong enough.

Yes, I guess there is no fix. Apparently one some configurations are stutters and one some not. And I would love to know the reason. It is a pity that many developers don't care about such issues. And for me the original is smooth too, it is just the remaster. I checked the frame times and they are not steady. The German website computerbase have written about this issue in May last year, but obviously Sperasoft don't care.

found a super strange fix maybe it will work for others if you have HDR turn it on in game
(dont turn on in windows)go into game then go turn it off and re enter game micro stuttering is gone.give it a shot im curious if this works for anyone else WTF...lol
