Don't expect anything to be fixed this issue was in the original version.
My friend & I refunded this after 40 mins of gameplay, such a lazy remaster...
I wanted to share this with you guys, because I had the same problem and needed to search for a long time, until I read some post in the older version's discussion, you're welcome - and everyone coming after me:
For Co-Op to work you need to sync your framerate / FPS with your co-op partner.
Both have to chose (for example) 60 fps + VSYNC, so you won't get disconnected in missions or while driving car.
If your FPS differ too much (you got 75 fps, your partner has 45 fps) your partner will get disconnected. So try to get your visual settings set up in a way you have constant FPS during game - same as your partner.
And now.
Enjoy the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
