official discord there alive there just reworking a ton of stuff expanding the maps, ect
Last news on Steam 15 february 2022. 8 months ago.
Generally speaking, several Devs are active mainly on Discords and Steam community shows "Dead game?" threads where solert players bring the news "Active on Discord!".
Never understand why even a montly update on Steam sounds so strange...
Fully agree, zero public communication is a mistake. Even in the best case, requiring people to take an extra step and join a private server on a signup-only chat platform is still a barrier for people trying to gauge how well the game is doing before they drop money on it.
In the worst case, you get something like with Trailmakers, where only people who spend a month in the devs' closed ecosystem are allowed to post in the feedback channel. It doesn't take many experiences like that for people to get burned and suspicious about every future "oh no check the discord it's all there" they hear.
In any case - I did go check, and the last update post on the Discord is still from the 15th of February 2022 as well (the invite at the top of the thread doesn't work, but the one on the Steam store page does).
For what it's worth, there's also a "developer talk" channel. Sporadically over the months, there have been some neat long-form text posts about e.g. the development workflow in there - stuff of the nature of these old development blogs:

I miss those. It'd be nice to see even just those kinds of posts on here, instead of having to blindly join a chat server and then digging through months of conversation to find them.
Thanks for sharing but that is quite bad news :(
I feel bad for the guys, I'm sure they have real problems, hopefully they'll get back to working on the game again .... sadly that looks kinda long shot at this point.
Maybe they can release it as is but open source so the community can mod it and add new stuff, instead of completely abandon it. Again just wishful thinking.
There's just a really dire lack of communication (and maybe some strange priorities, but that's just my opinion looking in - I'm still really hung up on how bad the builder interface was in the demo).
We are definitely still here, and yes, there is a lot we want to talk about, but we are still working on, well, everything.
Rest assured though, that there has definitely been massive progress in development. In fact, just about everything has been improved in some way or another, if not completely overhauled.
