Ulrik had the other problem, I thought his tsundere act was just an act initially, because it was so over the top, it surprised me in a bad way when I realized he was being legit, no one behaves like that unless they're deliberately being a joker and I ended up finding him to be completely immersion killing, even though I did like his story
such a shame there's no saving for Fin in PC ver it seems... still couldn't finish the all play through tho, but it breaks my heart to not being able to reach him.
Keep in mind though - one of my favorite characters is Fin, and at the moment I'm writing, we're still more than one day before the release of his route, so yeah - the DLC may change the order.
With that being said though...
My order from favorite to least liked (both the character and the route) are:
Ulrik - Ines - Adage - Yune - Eltcreed. And if I had to put the Grand Ending Route in the list, it would be between Adage and Yune.
If you want a more detailed opinion:
- Ulrik and Ines are the routes I truly love. Ulrik was my favorite character from the get go. I kind of didn't expect to like Fin just as much as him, since he isn't my type usually. And Ines was another surprise. I didn't care about him at the beginning, but I fell in love while doing the route. Ulrik on the other hand was exactly what I expected (meaning: awesome).
- Adage and the Grand Ending are the middleground routes. I like them a lot, but I don't become crazy when replaying either. I enjoy the drama in Adage's route. It's depressing, but very satisfying. And the Grand Ending is a perfect ending on first glance, but if you think about it, each individual character's love ending (best ending of the respective routes) is the best one for them. It's just more selective, since you can get that true perfect ending only for the romanced character. Still very satisfying though. Loved that Sachs got a good ending there - doesn't happen often. At best, his situation doesn't change, in most endings.
Also, the ending to this route is, in my opinion, a Fin ending too. Sure, it isn't a romantic route for him, but the ending is promising for a relationship in the future.
- Yune and Elt. Well, these are the bottom of the pile routes. Yune is okay, and his endings are great... and really, his route is very interesting too... But I'm more interested about the overall lore of the world and the consequences on the world depending on the ending, rather than Yune himself as a person, and that's not a good sign when romancing a character. The thing I cared most about in this route was the fact that in the dual "second best" endings, Fin could be saved and go back to the Heights and work with Cyrus, or at least see her often, depending on the selected ending. Again, not a good sign, since it has nothing to do with the romanced character. Elt is worse though. I like the guy. I really like him... as a friend. I love him as support and ally in Ulrik's route. But maaan, romancing him was a chore. It's a bit sad since he's the "main love interest". Well, I usually don't like the main anyway, so nothing new here. But still even my personal opinions put aside, I think he's very... well... for the lack of a better world, random. As in, he's a random character. His route is mostly useful to get some insight about his and Ulrik's past, so you know more things when doing Ulrik's route. On a positive note though, Sachs can get a good ending on this route too, and that's always welcome!
But again... Fin may alter the order. He'll probably be in the same tier as Ulrik and Ines, or skyrocket above everyone.
The epilogues also coming with the same DLC may add some flavor too - it'll help with the endings less charged in romance like Yune's, or in the ones where the love interest still hasn't finished "healing" in the main route, like Adage.
By the way, did you know doing the routes that stem from the Prisonner Route (I think both are necessary to get everything, but at least Adage is) you unlock new scenes with Fin during the Common and Prisonner Route (not the individual routes for Adage and Ines - only the content up until entering one route or the other). So it's good to replay from start till the end of the common Prisonner Route once you're done with Ines and Adage.
I talk about Sachs a lot, but as opposed to other people, I do not long for a route for him. I think he and Cyrus lack chemistry. So I'm happy when he has a good ending, but a route... eh... I would play if it existed, but I don't need it.
EDIT: yep! Fin's route is a blast!
Very sparse as far as information go, both about the world lore and the case, but so so great romance wise. Also, if you mind details and think about what you're seeing, it adds a lot to Sachsen's character.
Definitely my favorite character, and his route places along Ulrik and Ines.
