I agree.
The whole MV needs to be overhauled, especially the game level design, the UX/UI, and for sure the writing (so bland, like a textbook).
There's a reason: This extension of the main game is brought to you from a tiny, tiny company and the idea was probably (?) to stop at T-Rex, a big ending moment! KING OF THE DINOSAURS. Roll the cut scene! That's how it struck me, when I first played.
But, many fans kept playing and asking for more dinosaurs (still are!!), and so the team kept spawning wonderful creatures and the order of unlock began to defy logic and sense. My favorite part of this game is the animated garden world, a wonderful showcase of the creatures and their behaviors and reflection of all the hard work to build it.
More dinosaurs isn't the solution, IMO. This extension just needs a thoughtful retune of the currency and game play and tree and unlock sequence. To me, it feels like a favorite old attic or drawer that we could transform into an even richer, wonderland of an era long past.
Meanwhile, Beyond is based on the same game template (timed progress bars, trait cards, episodic reboots). The amazing Cells team (before my tenure) iterated and improved. The writing is so much better, the story is there, the journey is clear! There is a real anticipation of: Where will it end????
I'll stop there. But, I encourage you to share YOUR ideas, YOUR vision of this amazing game, as a whole. Like you, I'd love to see it blossom and grow!
Edit: I also think MV needs a real ending—a payoff worthy of all those many months of grinding. I finally achieved 200 G's, and pfffft. Nothing special. And nothing left to do as the numbers quickly drop out of tune.
For me, the only reason to tediously prestige is to mine the game for Darwinium to spend elsewhere.
Yeah, no.
The reason it maxed out to ridiculousness is that it was a mystery trait when I had a one-month Infinity Pass a few months ago. So, every time I played, it cost me nothing to select and add points. A lesser card, I wouldn't have bothered, but I wanted to see how high it could go. Those special cards are touted as "permanent," even as the game itself peters out quickly,
Why even upgrade it? Because I have nothing else to spend those 250,000 mutagens on. And still have 40,000 left over.
Wouldn't it be better to just END THIS GAME with a big, satisfying moment? And offer up the next big extension for those who finish as a reward? Exclusively, Like a grotto.
(Isn't that how most of the idle clickers work?)
