There are also like a dozen era with various life forms and upgrades between fish and mammals that basically was just ignored. I wonder if the exclusion of dinosaurs is a religious thing?
It can definitely be said that this game needs a lot of improvement as far as balance in concerned - in both the early and late game stages by the look of things. There are tons upon tons more things that could be added to the early evolution segment especially, seeing as it only took me about two days to reach humans on my first run and from that point on the pre-human Tech Tree of Life is nothing but a tiny roadblock for each new run.
The upgrades you unlock for having lots of certain objects should be way, way more powerful than they are since they appear a lot sooner for the earlier, less productive objects.
Dinosaurs are not part of human evolutionary ancestry, which is all that is covered by this game.
