Through out all that time playing the games, it grew up with me. And it's very much embedded in our personal history. That's what kept people coming back to the old games.
It doesn't matter how many "exchange of hats" the series gets, there is still a massive fanbase that grew up with the old games. But seeing the franchise exploited in way that makes everyone upset like this made me realize something.
We sometimes come back to play, not because it's a fun game, it's because we miss how it made us feel during those pivotal moments in our lives. Playing with a loved one, playing to escape from family drama, playing with friends at their place, or just playing by yourself after a day of work. We all miss that feeling with Halo.
For as many criticise 343i for abandoning MCC, it really is worth commending them for what support they did bring to it. Them not working on it further is purely due to the realities of development. Can't justify the costs, especially when so much cost was sunk into Infinite's development. Can't blame them for having to drop support.
Thanks Bungie for all the great years on Xbox, truly the greatest years of my life the 00's.
