I remember saving up enough money to buy an xbox and a copy of Halo CE. It was the Eid Holiday, and I had just ENOUGH to buy the two, if I didn't buy anything else that day.
I went to the Hamed Centre, a shopping area filled with shops dedicated to electronics & video games, and saw a copy of FRIGGIN HALO 2?!?! My 10 year old mind was blown, I didn't even know the game was getting a sequel. Ofc I got it!
Spent the entire holiday on a bean bag chair, eating omani chips and soda, playing that game. Core memory.
Happy birthday
The game did have some balancing issues with damage and the brutes were admittedly broken with power, but one well-placed headshot got them and no difficulty higher than normal was more balanced by HALO 2 standards, compared to Combat Evolved.
