Failed to open account linking!!

Me and my wife are trying to play together through steam. I am playing on a PC and she is playing on a MAC with a crossover allowing her to play windows games. We both opened up the games and it asked to sign in to our Microsoft accounts. It then asked me if I wanted to link my steam and Microsoft accounts but it didn't ask her. From what we have seen she has to have her accounts linked in order for us to play together. When she clicks on "Account Linking" it says "Failed to open account linking. Try again later." We have tried looking up solutions and we found one that said we need to run a file "as administrative" but she doesn't have that button. I assume that is because she is running through crossover platform. It seems like we are the only ones having this issue but if anyone knows the fix please let us know. Thank you!

I'm not sure if the OP ever got around to fixing their issue, but a friend of mine recently had their exact issue fixed using the first step in this vid. Something about the XBL Device key. And when he removed it and re opened his game it worked.
