Is it possible to play with a ps4 controller?

Im planning on playing through the campaigns with some friends, but they all got ps4 controllers and I've heard that you need some sort of programs or something to get it to work.

I don’t see why it won’t work without extra software

To have DS4 button prompts, you may need to mod the game, but if you’re ok with playing with Xbox one button prompts it should work with no additional software

Aren't controllers configured in steam? I use one with Kovaak's sometimes but it isn't configured through Kovaak's but through the steam control settings. I know this is about Halo MCC but I would've thought it'd be the same setup.

make sure playstation controller support is on in steam settings and itll work fine

Absolutely, steam should support them but I use DS4 windows with mine. It masks the inputs as a 360 so you have better compatibility with most games, and you can use the trackpad on it as a mouse
