If the last time was before the update and you're using the resume button, you're effectively trying to load an older version of the game, which boots you out, you can just simply restart the New Mombasa sections.
If it still does not work, you may have a corrupted odst.dll file. Simply look for the file and either remove/rename the file and verify game files to have Steam create a fresh file.
I am trying to launch the mission through the open city rally point directly through the campaign menu. I'm not sure if my DLL would be corrupted since the mission was working fine beforehand.
Otherwise I tried to start a new game, any playlist, same thing dropped me out to the main menu. But now it fine.
Hmm maybe I can try verify the files then, was it the DLL that you deleted?
Sadly can't tell, but ti was only 15 MB was downloaded and then the game was flawless again.
It appears the actual map file was corrupted and verifying my game files fixed the issue.
