synchronization problems in co-op mod

We were playing all the Halo campaigns with a friend, but when we got to the 2nd game, we were about halfway through the game and we started having sync issues, regardless of who created it, making it unplayable. We tried changing servers, checking files, and nothing. Has anyone experienced something similar? And if it has, do you know how to fix it?
