How does multiplayer work?

Does each game have its own MP lobbies or does the collection have one lobby as a whole?

When entering match making there are various playlists that include games and gamemodes. You can pick what to include and the game will put you into an appropriate lobby. Actually not sure if a single lobby can migrate between games, but you definitely don't get thrown into one big MCC lobby pool.

now a days its ususally halo 3 and reach I'm pretty sure, but even then their getting smaller by the year, if you have no luck with matchmaking there is a server browser, though alot of the time people host goofy game modes you can still find some regular multiplayer servers for stuff like halo 1 multiplayer
