Freezing during the game

For some reason when I'm playing MCC, my screen flashes black for a split second and then goes back to the game and then when i try to move, I'm frozen for a few seconds and then i gain control again and the same thing keeps on happening over and over. Has anyone had the same problem and what did you do to fix it?

Edit: After this happens, I bring up the task manager and it shows that Halo MCC is running in the background tasks and does not list it as a running app when clearly it is still on

I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX 1660 Super with 16GB RAM. I dont think its a hardware problem

I just figured out that if i hit windows button + tab and hit new desktop and then stay in the first desktop and open the app back up it stops pausing up. Thats a good temporary fix but i would like to fix it so that I dont have to do that to get it running properly

Try running the game in borderless windowed or windowed mode instead of fullscreen and see if that makes a difference.

It doesnt do it nearly as much but it's still doing it

Borderless mode is the recommended way to play because you don't have to worry about dissappearing taskbar, freezing as much, etc
