MM Error (PC): "Contacting server to get latest matchmaking data" never goes away.
Hello! I'm having issues w/ MCC. I can play custom browser but not matchmaking. I can play infinite matchmaking. I think its some kind of privacy settings that got messed up maybe? Did affect these recently, but not sure what would inhibit. I've also tried signing out and back in, in the MCC app. And I've uninstalled and re-installed and rebooted the computer several times. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Not going to violate cyber laws, when someone getting paid for certified work capable to do so.

Login credential topic=ERROR

Might be edge strict tracking protection settings, preventing credential login tokens from generating.

Its just like someone copying your work and not paying you, that's how I feel.

Finally got into a loading multiplayer and it automatically dictated I was banned with no evidence.

Bro, if you're having login credential issues, there are 2 main fixes for that. See if the link below helps your issue:

I Reset Network Adapter and did system maintenance without reading what you wrote.

Not every problem on our end.

Predatory programmers create problems, like stealing pixel art from a child and making a game.

Did your attempt at fixing things actually work and let you play the game? If not, then I highly suggest trying the simple fixes linked in my earlier comment. The XBL credential issue has been around for years, and happens pretty regularly when PC players play games that use XBox servers, so it's not an issue unique to 343i/Halo Studios.

Desensitized human does not understand who started development of the game, have a nice day now.
Microsoft runs the XBox Live servers, and also owns 343i/Halo Studios. That said, 343i/Halo Studios can't call XBox and order them to fix their stuff - they don't have any authority there.

As it is, all you've done is accuse the devs of not being ethical programmers because of a problem that is not caused by their game, while also stating that you feel it's unfair to be banned from the game because you'd rather not actually try either of the two most common fixes. That's on you, not the devs.

I tried deleting all the "Xbl-" credentials in Windows Credentials Manager and restarting. No-Go. The Steam Settings > In Game > Delete Web Browser Data thing I tried and after resetting, still No-Go.

I maybe neglected to mention I tried setting up gamebar using the xbox app and such recently to no avail. So I uninstalled the xbox app. For some reason the gamebar center button did not have friends option (we were trying to get party chat to work in Infinite). But this is perhaps a separate issue. To reiterate: In MCC when trying to enter matchmaking (say social), you hit play and you get the error message.

OK, the XBox GameBar has a "XBox Social" widget, which is where your Friends are. It might be hidden by mistake, in which case if you click the gear/Settings button, you'll find the XBox Social function under Widgets. The XBox Social system now requires you to "Follow" someone and for them to "Follow" you back for you to be considered friends.

That aside, when you deleted the XBL Credentials and restarted, were you asked to sign in again? If you removed all of those Credentials, then it should have forced a sign in page to pop up. If it didn't pop up, then you might have missed a Credential, or you need to deliberately Sign Out of the game via the Change Profile option.

To change your profile, from the main menu in the game, hover over your name in the top right corner and click the blue and white icon to the left of your player rank: this will open the roster. Click your name, this should bring up a menu with four options. Choose Change Profile and then select Yes. This will sign you out of your Microsoft Account, allowing you to sign into a different one.

I was prompted to sign in upon startup. As well, I've tried what you said and signed out/in to my profile. No dice. Tried getting in a party with others and giving them leader, they got the same message. But we were able to play campaign and customs

That's odd. At least you're able to get in somewhat, so I'm not sure what exactly is broken for you. I know some people had an overly aggressive firewall that was preventing them from accessing matchmaking, but I thought that was largely solved years ago.

@countgrey Yes, I'm glad for what is playable! And I can live off of H1 CTF custom browser and Reach Mega-buses haha. But, this is a curiosity. I even disabled the firewall entirely, tried to do it. Was not the issue. Turned it back on after of course. Thanks for the attempts

That's wild. Partial functionality is better than none at all, but at this rate you might want to submit a support ticket just on the off chance that they can help you.

Sure, if I do get the solution eventually, will reply as well

I read on google somewhere that the latest update broke MM for some people. May need to just wait for a new update, which for this game is at least semi-frequent. Provided they are aware of the issue. Which since support is not a thing for Xbox, I don't see how they would know. Or maybe they did it on purpose. I know back in like 2020 my Xbox One mysteriously just stopped working when they decided to release the game pass and phase out Xbox Live Gold. I couldn't play any Xbox One games period. Dead console. Called support, told me to consult a gamer lol. I mean there is a reason I'm on steam. So obsolescence is a marketing strategy that is morally wrong and punishable in the case of the old Iphones. But calling them out on it is different than being able to sue for class action type of stuff. SO idk. But I hope it gets resolved, cuz I just need to play OG halo.
