Can't get into any matchmade games [HALO MCC PC]

Me and my roommate are both having an issue where when we both try to search for an online game, regardless of the gamemode it either does; we get queued up with people then it restarts the search, it says looking for matchmaking (forever and never finds a game), or we find people and hit the loading screen of the game and map but then we get kicked and it says "you have lost connection to the match." After being kicked out of a match we get temporarily banned for 20-60 minutes even though it isn't our fault. We can play custom, story, etc. Just can't play online/matchmade related things.

• Everything on both of our computers are updated (drivers, windows, game, etc.)
  
• We both have ethernet cables to out college wifi
  
• We both tried verifying files on steam

Any suggestions please? We just wanna play halo.

Hmm, I'm curious.

Back in season 6, several people refused to update their game, and when they queue up with people that did update, it kicks everyone out of the lobby because they are playing on two different versions of the game.

I wonder if people are still doing this.

If it isn't this, then its most likely the server bugging out like it always does and putting a ban on you and your roommate because they can't seem to differentiate intentional disconnecting and server crash/connection issues.

As for the restating search, that's been around since S1, and I still don't know what causes it nor do I have a fix for it.

This has been happening to me for a couple of weeks. It is SO frustrating. My game just got stuck on a loading screen right before a game started. I waited for five mins until I was like "okay. it's locked up." I had to close my window out and reopen. It banned me for half an hour!
