Halo 3 legendary campaign is so annoying
It's look like I am playing this with Catch skull on. I'm dying not because it hard, I am dying because every freaking 1-3 seconds enemies throw grenades (and in 80% cases I dont hear grenade near me).
Also in Brow's Nest in phantoms part marines kill me at least 4 times in a row because they throwing grenades to me. It really annoying, when one enemy remaining to checkpoint, u want to kill him but freaking marine throws grenade to you (you dying) and you must start this part from beginning.
Is that normal?

When I did Crow's Nest I had to bait the marines to a target and hide because I died (in total) 15 times JUST to marine grenades. The marines alone killed me more times than I died in the Legendary Solo level "Cortana" in every other level.
Rocket marines were by far the worst experience, especially if you had my luck and got checkpointed right next to a mongoose rocket marine and ended up reverting over and over again until you broke the death loop. Not even rocket flood in Halo CE and 2 were that painful to deal with.

I am confused how you guys had such a bad experience with grenades and rockets. I don’t recall dying to friendly fire at all in my legendary playthrough. They did love to do it in halo 2 though.

No idea, it's quite random. Like you're speeding along and all of a sudden an enemy appears in front of you and the idiot in the back of the Mongoose headshots you with a rocket.

Not to defend the Marine AI at all (they are universally horrible) or to disparage your experience, but dying that many times to friendly fire in Crow's Nest is not entirely the AI's fault. It's not like when Marines throw grenades, they pop into a wormhole and get spit out at random locations near you.

Marines obviously try to throw grenades at enemies, and they obviously fail at that many times. As long as you aren't too close to enemies, nor too close to Marines in a certain radius, you will be safe from friendly fire, bar the chain explosions of grenades that sometimes occurs, emphasis on sometimes.

I was being too confident that mission, after it the rest of the run wasn't that bad since I actually worked alongside the AI instead of trying to do my own thing and power through it.

Maybe you didn't try make achievement 3 hours legendary, where is you must pass level as fast as you can, so grenade deaths too annoying in this achievement.

Just put the difficulty on lower if you cant stand the heat. Try normal. If you need grenede indicators you must wait for halo 4.
Why should I try normal if I feel good on legendary in all halos (except grenades in halo 3). Normal too easy. And as I said above, watch my profile (especially, how many hours played and achievements) before write comment like a "try do it on lower difficulty". It's useless info too as comments above you.

(First two paragraphs) I did as you say but anyway I got grenade, maybe I'll make a video about it even.
(Third paragraph) Thanks for answering on my question.
(Fourth paragraph) The problem is grenades attached to the enemies, so I must to kill enemies anyway. I cant just say "stop" or using something for grenade stunning enemies.
Also in halo 3 the most times I heard "Catch!" from both sides.

If you do end up making a video, I would definitely watch it to see what is troubling you.

I do agree that sometimes I can't tell whether or not I'm playing with the Catch skull enabled on Legendary or not, but I personally prefer playing with Catch because I genuinely enjoy all the chaos that goes on, and avoiding instant death from grenades isn't a problem for me. If anything I prefer it because enemies are wasting time with grenade throwing animations instead of just shooting me, not to mention they drop grenades all the time.

I just finished a play through Crow's Nest on Legendary with Catch and Cowbell on and was killed twice by Spike Grenades in the barracks. That was it. The only times I was endangered by Marine grenades was when they were throwing grenades at an enemy I was about to kill. It isn't like Marines throw grenades randomly, if there is an enemy, don't get too close or you might get blown up.

And yes, you have to focus on enemies because they are the ones throwing grenades. But the thing is, as I mentioned, when they are in the grenade throwing animation, they can't do anything else, so you can safely focus your time and effort on avoiding the grenade that they are about to throw. Even with an Assault Rifle, you can usually do just enough damage to flinch Brutes and make them drop their Spike Grenade on themselves. Grenades aren't meant to be guaranteed instant death as soon as an enemy finishes throwing them.
Sometimes me too prefer play with skulls but not when I make 3 hours legendary achievment, where is I must die way less and shoot/run as fast as I can. So "one single plasma grenade can destroy a whole kill streak" and u must did it again from last checkpoint.

But it's my style. It's not interesting in sitting in cover and shoot, I rush to enemies, shoot and beat at the same time (for 3 hourse legendary achievment this is important and saves time).

Noone can focus on more than one target, so I cant see where is all enemies located. Also I cant predict and see while I am in an actual fighting, who throwing grenades.

Idk, precision weapons are still pretty gud in Halo 3, just keep one on you and most everything you run into will die. The grenades are frequent but the AI shouts that they're throwing one every time it happens so you have plenty of time to move. If you think the grenades are bad just wait til you get to repositioning flood turrets.

I do have a bit of problem with those. What's the fastest way to kill them? BR and Carbines don't seem to do much damage. Assault/plasma rifles?

As I said, I hear grenade only in 20% cases in campaign while I am in an actual battle.
Also I said, I cant predict or see all enemies movements.
I experienced in flood turrets already, it's not that annoying as grenades
Halo 3 legendary is the easiest. However, i have to admit that:

On Sierra 117 if there are sniper jackals and you only have a carabine, it's gonna be frustrating since they one-shot as their Halo 2 counterpart does. The carabine overall is a steaming piece of dung in the campaign.
On Crow's nest and generally any level including marines, you're gonna die from friendly grenades. Also, when in vehicules, marines suddenly turn into 1992 AI.
On The Storm you will die from marines with a rocket launcher. That's why you shouldnt let one on the back of your mangoose.
On any level with flood, the long range pure form is just a pain in the bum.
The vehicule handling might be even worse than Halo 2, and Halo 2 was awful in that regard.

Other than that, well it's really the easiest campaign of the 4 games on the MCC so far.
