Why is controller Vs Mouse and Keyboard better
I just cant seem to find a middle ground where as far as settings go to use a mouse and keyboard vs a controller, Just due to the aim assist alone, Either my mouse sensitivity is either to low or to high, Vs the aim assist theres no way around it.

I played a couple games using a controller just to see the aim assist was, and in my personal thought on it is, it feels like a low key aimbot. I would just like to see if anyone has any suggestions for using a mouse and keyboard

Hop on a vehicle and snipe with the tank or gauss cannon its smooth on M and K. Any vehicle is actually okay, also some halo's play better on M an K like halo 1.

right i get that but thats not my play style, altho it might actually be the hit detection which i know they are working on. i was just wondering if there was a middle ground to use against aim assist

Both have advantages over the other. You can look up the controller aim assist range and bullet magnetism angles and see that it only works in close to medium range encounters, with the angle changing based on that as well. M+K have controller beat in a couple areas: aiming down sights, vehicle control and shooting, and long range engagements. Aiming down sights is much harder to do with a controller because aim assist only works withing reason and sensitivity is either to fast or to slow to aim compared to the quick flicks of a mouse when adsing. Vehicles become a lot easier to control when using a M+K as faster sensitivity allows faster movement and crosshair placement when driving or shooting. Long range engagements are given directly to M+K. Aim assist only works within a certain distance and when at a long range (say a sniper rifle battle) the M+K player is going to consistently hit shots more than the controller user, especially if there is sporadic movement involved. I actually have both a controller and a mouse set up for easy transitions so when I want to hip fire in a close to medium range firefight it will be easier, however if I have to ads, drive or shoot from a vehicle, or get into a firefight at long range I can easily switch to the M+K.

Controller is OP AF on Halo 3. it becomes super evident on team snipers coupled with the games ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hit reg and projectile based aiming that gives controllers with bullet magnitism a complete unfair advantage.

Halo 3's MP is a joke and from a billion dollar funded company like 343i they should be ashamed at the state this MP released. what a joke!

That's purely subjective, find something that works for you. Personally I suggest you to go with something lower so you can lead better and don't constantly overshoot.

I set my dpi to very high and I do fine with kbm on 3. 2 however requires you to use controller to have a chance at survival.

As Drifter said, each method of input has it’s advantages and disadvantages relative to the other. For me personally, I like to play within the red reticle ranges of all my weapons and have very little experience with PC PvP FPS’s, so I find more comfort and familiarity with using a controller.

I recommend trying 5.5 for both horizontal and vertical sensitivity on controller settings for Halo 3, reach on the other hand much higher sensitivity.

You’re a madman! Like one of those sensitivity 10 players back in OG halo 3. I play with a sensitivity of 2 and I still wonder if sometimes it’s too much for me, lol
