Something went wrong, please try again
Hello,
I am sure this has been posted before but I receive this message while trying to sign in to MCC from Steam. My signin works fine from the Xbox app though. Can someone please help? I just bought a new laptop so everything is up to date, windows is whatever the most recent, steam, etc...
Thanks

This is because your PC stores the credentials, and the game borrows them from your PC to login. All the login screens that the game gives you are actually going to be saved to your PC's credentials and not anywhere in the game's files.

To fix this common issue, go into your PC Settings, go to your Credentials Manager, and delete XBL|DeviceKey. The next time you open up the game, it will force a first-time login page, which will create a new XBL|DeviceKey that will be saved in your PC's Settings. You should only have to fix this once, because once you're properly logged in for the first time the game will just automatically load in the credentials saved on your PC.

It's unfortunately an old issue, but the fix is pretty easy and you shouldn't have to deal with it again.

Thanks for the help, I have tried this and every xbl credential and it has not worked yet. Just uninstalled MCC and then deleted every credential in windows credentials related or not. Now reinstalling MCC so hopefully this helps.

Rather than the XBox app, have you been able to login on the XBox website? That will sometimes prompt you for additional account info, like a phone number, which could be interfering with the MCC login process. Alternatively, your laptop might have some aggressive anti-virus software that is interfering with the login process.

Well, in that case I think something is wrong with your account. Maybe someone tried to hack it and your account is locked down, or you accidentally wrote down the wrong login info, etc. Your best bet is to try and reset your password and go from there.
