Go into your PC Settings, go to your Credentials Manager, and delete XBL|DeviceKey. The next time you open up the game, it will force a first-time login page, which will create a new XBL|DeviceKey.
Edit: Reinstalling the game doesn't do anything to the relevant credentials, because those are stored elsewhere on your PC.
I managed to reset the login, but the error message: "An error occurred while signing in to xbox live." it continues to appear, regardless of the account i add (the existing one or the new one created to test it).
At this point I no longer know what could generate this error, whether Steam, Microsoft or something I'm doing wrong without realizing it.
Once you've successfully done this, try logging in via the MCC. If it still doesn't work, then you may be having an issue with your anti-virus software/a firewall stopping the MCC from communicating with the appropriate servers.
Thank you so much for the time you dedicated to me and the help you gave me.
I was able to log into the game and end the initial login loop.
Thank you so much. Too kind.
You just solved 3 weeks of issues trying to login to Microsofts' crappy online service. Me and my friends had tried everything. Legend, thank you <3
Close MCC completely and open a command prompt (steps below if needed)
Hit Windows Key
Type "cmd" into the search bar that opens (it should find a command prompt) and open it.
Copy paste "for /F "tokens=1,2 delims= " %F in ('cmdkey /list ^| findstr Xbl') do cmdkey /delete %G" into the opened command prompt window and hit enter.
Let it finish running (it will scroll quickly)
Relaunch MCC and log back in
That script looks for all of the Xbl entries in your Credential Manager and deletes them all at once.
If you dont trust the script (I dont blame you for not running random scripts you find online) you can continue doing it by hand!
Good luck to anyone who stumbles on these threads.
