343i's current stance on split-screen on PC is: "In Backlog, Pending Further Discussions"
Screw their backlog, if you're going to release a game on PC its needs to have (at the minimum) feature parity with the console release. Not only that, we've been asking for splitscreen Halo on the PC for nearly eighteen years!
Both Gears of War 4 & 5 PC have splitscreen campaign on PC and they are both pretty recent Microsoft games, so the excuse about multiple accounts or guest accounts is just that, a sad excuse because they have an acceptable solution in GoW.
Splitscreen is a definitive feature in Halo, its one of the reasons the game sold so big, you could sit down at one Xbox and play with your homies. everyday there is someone new asking for splitscreen so they can play with friends & family which illustrates just how many people really want this or expect it to be intact.
Because these games have it, why doesn't this, because its just as stupid as people using the multiple accounts excuse, every game has its own ecosystem and engines, for example some newer and older games don't support splitscreen on pc despite console versions supporting it, let's say they add splitscreen, who's to say all those people begging for it would use it, it would be another situation like ibmm, people begged for it, yet hardly anyone uses it, would be a waste of time and resources in my opinion
I really do not want to make a second account and set up Necleus Coop but I feel like I have to.
A. People have been asking for Splitscreen a hell of alot more than asking Aim Assist's automatic control in mid range BRs to be dialed back. The demographics aren't remotely similar and diminishing them to being whiners is about as immature as you can get. But then again, you've never been known for being insightful.
B. No-one asked for a separate queue for MK/B players. All it did was waste time coding something people aren't going to use, simply based on queue timers alone. You have a very bizarre obsession with pushing this false reality.
i think EA pretty much learned their lesson that we do want single player games and the local split screen coop for Halo was something special in that regard that they lost and gave into the "multiplayer" makes money mirage..
I still have my 360 and all of the halo titles. MCC PC came out. I played through the campaigns played a few matches online and went back to the 360 because my kid wanted to play with me. It's a shame too because the frame rate, low latency, and just the way the games run is incredible. It just comes down to the fact that Splitscreen is a far more substantial and usable feature that will get used far more than any of the other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they're currently working on. M+KB support for console, FOV sliders for console, and other garbage that really has minimal impact compared to what adding splitscreen would bring to the table. GOD FORBID THEY DON'T ADD HDR!!! Good ol' corporate greed just trying to get people to buy more copies. Both versions run on x86 architecture and the windows store and xbox versions of mcc are both UWP. No more excuses. If they're not gonna do it they should just own up to the fact that they're not and tell us,
