Can't log in, and can't change email

So I got the MCC, downloaded it, and when I tried to login with my xbox live account it said it didn't recognize the login. No big deal, I'll verify it- and if that's a pain I'll just make a new email

Except it won't let me do anything except try to send a text to my old number, and I'm waiting to hear back from microsoft

I did try going into the game files and manually removing the XBL stuff, as I saw was recommended in a few places, but that did nothing. Neither did reinstalling it, restarting my computer, etc.,

Can anyone give me a hand?

I thought xbox live kinda dissolved into the microsoft account being used. Only thing I could suggest is logging in with your microsoft account if its different to the xbox live account?

commenting in hopes of you find an answer, because I got the same problem.

I know you can add emails as aliases onto your microsoft acc, so you can add the login you dont recognize, but that doesnt really fix the problem lol

I would- but I literally can’t get passed the verification for my old email

Yeah I can’t even get that far in, I’m stuck at the very beginning portion of the sign in process

Bros- I figured it out
This is what ended up working

Needed to uninstall, delete the webcache (apparently)- the steps here

Then opened the credential manager and deleted all the Xbl files
