Let's be real. Halo 4 is a pretty mid game. You shouldn't get a pass for simply not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed in spectacular fashion when you were just handed one of the most successful and beloved IPs of the last decade.
The visuals are ugly and generic, the story is nonsense, they retconned important lore just for the sake of it and the gameplay was changed to bait in Call of Duty fans.
Halo 4 reeks of 343 pissing on a tree like a dog to mark its territory, everything they changed, they changed for the worse just so they could claim Halo for themselves without a single ounce of respect for the legacy or the fans.
What he's talking about is WAY before that, very early in pre-production for Halo CE. They hadn't even decided it was going to be an FPS yet.
Bungie was originally designing Halo CE for Mac, but somehow they showed off a tech demo before Apple made them sign a contract, so Microsoft swooped in and asked them to design Halo as an XBox Launch title instead.
Also, you do not begin on the day you are conceived, you begin on the day you are born.
No one forgot that Halo was introduced as a concept for Mac. They didnt know it in the first place lol. I believe he was referring to "Mac only" as "non Windows" since it released in 2003 for Mac only, but to discredit the huge impact it had on console gaming is a disservice to the game.
I find it very interesting that the guy playing pointless word games slipped in this little tidbit as if it were established fact and not the major point of contention in one of the biggest political issues in America right now.
It kinda makes me think you're a Communist subversive acting in bad faith.
The beginning of Halo was on Xbox, not when it first began being created is my point. If that is somehow political then I apologize lol. You never know these days
A pass doesn't mean the game is amazing fs just ok. Aside from 343i continuing the cannon with Reach instead of Halo 3, game play and movement in 4 was decent; the multiplayer was fun; nobody was spamming the battle rifle endlessly until the 'pro players' moaned to make the battle rifle like it did was in Halo 3, at that point the player base dropped.
Bungie tried new things in Halo 2 which were absolutely sh/te, some of the weapons like the magnum from Halo 3 were pointless but as usual the fans suck them off because the hype. No, Halo 4 wasn't incredible but it at least made a possible base for 343i to work off from which unfortunately has been trashed due to sheer negligence for the campaign.
Little errata changed Halo 2/4 to Halo 2.
-Removal of the 60 round assault rifle. It may have been crap but that feel has not been replicated even when the SAW was released. SMG's unstable pan upwards on sustained fire.
-Plasma Weapons aren't finishers anymore, just for removing shields. Most of the weapons got downgrades for no reason at all which all became useless against bullet sponge brutes.
-Graphics felt like a downgraded pc port to console rather than polished graphics of combat evolved.
- Duel Wield was almost useless in campaign on higher difficulties as there wasn't any scope with small range along with the inability to throw grenades whilst holding two weapons.
