Best case scenario; a new dev who actually respects Halo and has done their research makes the game and faithfully recreates it well without any of the BS from modern Halo like sprinting or ADS or any of that other crap.

Worst case (and most realistic) scenario; 343 makes it and makes tons of retcons to make it fit in with their own lore and shoves sprinting, ADS and other generic shooter mechanics in, while basing the art style off the anniversary addition.

Also, rumors and leaks are meaningless without proof, show me screenshots or else there's no point in discussing it.

Just look at how badly they fumbled it on the MCC. SBMM killing multiplayer, using a keyboard and mouse being tantamount to a handicap, the tick rate making the enemy AI WAY too aggressive in campaign (I know that last one was somewhat of a necessary compromise on 343's part, but still).

Do you really trust them to remake Halo 3 from the ground up and not to bungle it completely?

You seemed to have missed my point. OP finished off his mini-rant by saying "Best of all, it's Halo 1 yet again and not Halo 3". I was pointing out that they were just as likely to bungle a Halo 3 remake as they are to bungle Halo 1, because this is 343 we're talking about.

OP was being sarcastic when he says he has faith in 343. He's venting his frustration that the CE remake is almost certainly gonna suck because 343 is going to do 343 things.

Well if this rumor is true (please god let it not be true), the absolute earliest we'll get confirmation is in a few hours with the Xbox direct. However I doubt it since it seems like it cares more about CoD and it's probably too early in development to announce it.

The most realistic take is that they are just gutting the Anniversary graphics from HCE and replacing them with FAR better ones hopefully or just making that mod remaking HCE in H3 official and making it the new anniversary graphics mode

The only pass 343i gets is Halo 4. Everything else after that has been a complete travesty.
