Game is installed but not installed

Basically every time I go to play Multiplayer or Campaign I have to download several GBs.


Everytime I go to play the Campaign the game says it's not installed, so I uncheck the Campaign and check it again, close the game and it downloads 2.9GBs that allow me to play the Campaign BUT it locks the Multiplayer now, saying that is not installed when I go play it.

So I repeat the process for the Multiplayer which also downloads several GBs to allow me to play which then lock the Campaign saying I don't have it installed. And on and on...

How much free storage space do you have on your hard drive? What's the total storage size? Is the game saved on the C drive or something else? Have you tried restarting the computer after the download finishes?

I'd recommend doing all the downloading through the Steam library DLC page for the sake of simplicity.

There's plenty of storage. It's an SSD on C: with a short folder path and name.
I just finished download the GBs to play the Multiplayer now both of them don't work, saying they're not installed but everything shows they are. Even after I checked file integrity.
The game's folder is at 42.1GB.

I searched online and tried some solutions like repairing/restarting Gaming Services and turning fTPM off/on. Nothing worked.
Also found that even reinstalling may not work and I don't want to redownload 40GBs for nothing.

The only thing I can think of is hard drive stability. This is a tool that I can vouch for that checks for S.M.A.R.T. errors logged by the hard drive. Make sure you get the "info" version and not the "mark" version, which will run a benchmark.

I've been trying and I really can't think of anything else. That is such a strange problem to have. You should consider sending in a bug report to 343i. They are still supporting this game. The response time is slow but they do take bug reports seriously. support.halowaypoint.com

I finally fixed it by downloading the Extended Language Pack...
I tought I didn't need it because everything in the game was already in portuguese.
Those were exactly the 2.9GB that kept redownloading itself.
