I would say the way they are releasing these titles isn't helping either. They still should've done flighting but probably held off on launching the MCC until all games were ready. If that wasn't a option at least launch all the games in early access instead of saying this was final because the technical issues say other wise.
People could call me a troll all they want but the fact still stands the player base is low and its dying off quick. The excuse for every game was "You know how hard it is to port a collection of games this size blah blah blah" I understand that but we're talking about a AAA company funded by Microsoft plus two of the games have had PC ports already. Not to mention I think these people who white knight aren't helping the player base either because instead of acknowledging issues they act like the game is perfect and nothing is wrong and if you say other wise you're instantly a troll and get bashed.
Oh funny thing is between the releases of Reach through 2 people would always say "Oh watch once Halo 3 comes out it will be so popular and it will be the best Halo game for the player base" and stuff like that and it did and I was super happy but in the end it had issues and the player base slowly declined after a month to where we are now and I doubt Halo 4 will change that. Now with Infinite being so underwhelming I doubt Halo will make a comeback any time soon. Which really saddens me.
Objectively, yes it is pretty dead. You wont find a match in Halo 2, Halo 2A, and rarely will you get a game in Halo CE. Out of all the 4,000 - 5,000 (average playerbase even during the weekends), at least 95% is playing Halo 3, 5% Reach.
To be one of the most successful franchises in gaming, and entertainment, the game is pretty dead.
Think it's worth mentioning that probably the vast majority of people have played Halo CE, considering how Custom Edition has managed to stay alive for almost 20 years, even when the original Gamespy servers were shutdown. Halo CE should be the most populated game in the MCC.
I was so happy that they had invited me to the final flight because I could instantly refund my $10 Reach purchase after 2 hours of "testing" as I knew what to look for and went with $1 Gamepass since because after all the promises that turned out to be blatant lies 343 showed what they truly think of their community.
I never felt so punked by a company in all the years that I play games and was truly sorry for all the Xbox gamers that already went through this many years ago.
Because people keep saying it is and it's a self fulfilling prophecy.
Completely agree. There is a LOT of people desperately trying to justify their purchases here (they're easy to spot; they're the ones who get nasty when valid complaints are raised). I'm more or less happy since I got the collection mainly for single player, but I would have loved to revisit the glory days of Halo 3 on the 360. No such luck.
The older Halo games have reached their expiry dates years ago in terms of multiplayer activity obviously.
Halo: Infinite on the other hand may revive the franchise multiplayer wise... depends on if its good on release.
