I typically play the Firefight Arcade gametypes (Unlimited Lives, Overshields, Mix 'n' Match Weapon Sets, Random Waves, Mostly No Friendly Fire, etc.) as I suspect the majority of Firefight players do. Firefight Limited is equally applicable to this as Floodfight should also be, but I can't speak for how quickly you'll find a match for either of them.

Something worth noting is that I remember seeing players in Firefight Limited leaving very quickly (It's either involuntarily due to a connection issue or a 'UE4 fatal error' crash, or they did so at their own accord due to various reasons). And if you meet the frequently-encountered idle-players in Firefight Limited (Some forget that they left the Matchmaking on while others purposefully spin-in-place to fool the idle-kick), you've got an steep uphill battle in preventing them from wasting Lives on most maps. My personal recommendation would be bring friends into this one if you're actually keen on surviving the whole set here, but there's no harm in simply giving it a go for the fun of it.

I tend to stick to "Arcadefight" (Where I can pick up any weapons I want to challenge myself or at least mix things up from the sleep-inducing "Fuel Rod + Jetpack"), "Sniperfight" or "Meleefight" as I tend to find "Boomfight" types outside of Halo: Reach's "Nadefight" (Where I just use the Grenade Launcher as there's a lot more you can do with it besides point & splash) very monotonous. Plus, it can be much easier to get a Warthog crew with random players going (I often have the most fun with Firefight Arcade just driving any willing gunners), unless the rare random player decides to deliberately & actively destroy them even before you've done something that could possibly annoy anybody (Sometimes with you in them).

LONG STORY SHORT
If you're looking to complete a Set of Firefight in Matchmaking, anything but Firefight Doubles should do the trick. If you want to get Rounds done quickly or you're simply having trouble finding a 4-Player Firefight Matchmaking match, Firefight Doubles is a great alternative, especially for the 'Complete 20 Rounds of Firefight Matchmaking' Monthly Challenge.
thx, so if i got it right, i could just pick something like 2 player firefight or 4 player firefight and use the firefight option or any other except firefight doubles. Since im only trying to do the challenge "firefight" which only requires me to play 2 of these,

Maybe there's an even shorter way for me to put it for you:
  • If you want to do a whole Set (Three Rounds), go for anything 4-Player.
  • If you want to do just one Round, anything 2-Player should suffice.
  • Otherwise, if you're not concerned about completing Challenges nor completing them in a hurry, go for whatever takes your fancy.

Sorry for being confusing. I just realised that I kept saying "Firefight Doubles" as that's what it was originally called for the Xbox 360 Matchmaking Roster and I tend to refer to the older Gametype or Playlist names just out of habit (I played a lot more Firefight Matchmaking than I did Multiplayer Matchmaking back then, basically I do with anything Matchmaking-related with The Master Chief Collection these days).
thx i'll try the 4 player then, also no worries i just don't really get a lot of this stuff, tried doing info like youtube but the layout is different and i don't fully get their explanations

and since this will be the first time ever i play multiplayer halo i wanna make sure i do it right. used to just play halo 3,4 and reach on the Xbox 360 and only played campaign, firefight and forge
